The Blyde River Canyon is a popular tourist destination and the Drakensberg Mountains are known for their jagged peaks that seem to stab the sky. Cape Town is a city with a beachy vibe and a beautiful setting.

South Africa’s extensive park system is home to all of the Big Five as well as many other large animals like giraffes, hippos, and a wide variety of antelopes. Even though the black rhino is much harder to find, the white rhino is included on this list. You can easily spot a leopard in Sabi Sand Game Reserve, and Cape mountain zebras roam freely in the country’s western regions.

Travelers interested in seeing exotic wildlife often flock to South Africa. Major safari animals are all in plain view. If you want to see rhinos, your best bet is to visit one of the beautiful KwaZulu-Natal parks, while Kruger National Park is great for seeing all kinds of animals. Sabi Sand is most famous for its habituated leopards, but seeing the Big Five is also a major draw.
