My name is Katanzai David with five years of experience guiding safaris across Uganda’s most iconic parks, I am passionate about connecting people from all over the world to Africa’s rich wildlife, culture, and landscapes. What I love most about tourism is seeing guests light up during a wildlife encounter or cultural interaction, it’s the most fulfilling part of my work.
My journey into tourism began in childhood. My uncle worked at the zoo in Entebbe, and he often took me along to watch wildlife. That early exposure sparked my deep passion for nature, storytelling, and conservation. Becoming a guide felt like a natural path to share that love with others while educating them about Uganda’s beauty.
Over the years, I’ve experienced many unforgettable moments. One that stands out was during a gorilla trekking tour in Bwindi, where a curious mountain gorilla gently touched one of our guests. The emotional reaction was powerful and reminded me just how impactful these encounters can be. Another time in Queen Elizabeth National Park, a leopard calmly crossed in front of our vehicle—a magical “once-in-a-lifetime” moment for the guests.
In my leisure time, I enjoy birdwatching, creating wildlife content for social media, learning new guiding techniques, and spending time with family and friends. My favorite animal is the leopard, admired for its strength, stealth, and grace. Among birds, I’m especially fond of the Shoebill Stork for its rare and majestic presence.
I am proud to work with Kubwa Five Safaris, a company that embodies professionalism, sustainable tourism, and personalized guest experiences. Their commitment to excellence and promoting local expertise makes them the ideal team to be part of in this industry.
