With over 12 years of experience in Uganda’s tourism industry, I am a passionate, resilient, and people-centered safari guide. My journey began in 2013 with Beyond the Sky Tours and Travel Bureau Ltd, where I worked in the tours department, fleet management, and occasionally guided tours. This exposure sparked my passion, and by 2016, I had begun formal training in professional tourist guiding.
I speak fluent English and Luganda, with some spoken Japanese—gained from a life-changing six-month stay in Japan. During that time, I was deeply moved by the humility and hospitality of highly respected individuals, which inspired my dedication to making guests feel valued, comfortable, and at home wherever they travel.
What I love most about tourism is how it brings people together across cultures, experiences, and backgrounds. My mission is to provide solutions to people’s travel needs, creating meaningful and memorable experiences that leave a lasting impact.
Why I Became a Guide
My path to tourism was sparked unexpectedly. While working in car hire and transport, I was once asked to drive a foreign couple to Murchison Falls National Park. Though I wasn’t yet a trained guide, that experience awakened a calling within me that I’ve pursued passionately ever since.
Memorable Stories
On one trip, a vehicle I was using had worn-out tires, but the safari still went well. As a gesture of appreciation, the guest family gifted me five brand-new tires!
Another unforgettable moment was when I encountered a hippo just two meters away in the dark at a lodge. Shocked, I fainted and scared the hippo away! These experiences remind me how unpredictable and thrilling nature can be.
In My Free Time
I enjoy discovering new places, bird watching, motorbike riding, fitness, watching movies, and connecting with people from different cultures. These interests enrich my guiding work and help me continuously grow.
Marital Status
I’m happily married with six wonderful children.
Favorite Animals & Birds
Animals:
Elephant – I respect its powerful presence and intelligence, especially how it responds to humans near its space.
Leopard – Its strength and agility, particularly in hoisting prey into trees, amaze me.
Birds:
Bateleur Eagle – Its changing plumage and flight grace are captivating.
Firefinch – A regular visitor at home that sparked my kids’ love for birds.
Ross’s Turaco – Its vibrant colors in flight are simply breathtaking.
