My name is Anthony Nganga, AKA Tony Cruize. I am a safari guide from Kenya with 12 years of working experience in the tourism industry. I am adventurous, outspoken, fun, and someone who loves meeting new people. I do my job passionately because of the love and dedication I have for it. I am married to one wife, and together we have three amazing kids.

I studied photojournalism at the Technical University of Kenya (TUK) with the aim of joining a mainstream media house. Later on, I developed an interest in tourism and enrolled in a college that allowed me to pursue relevant courses in that field.

I have worked with various companies as a professional freelance safari guide before settling at Kenya Bush Expeditions, where I got the chance to work with Kubwa 5 Safaris. While at Kubwa 5 Safaris, I have handled amazing clients from all over the world, leading safaris across Kenya. The safaris at Kubwa 5 are tailored to suit the needs of all esteemed clients, making it possible for them to have unforgettable experiences.

I speak three different local languages in addition to English and Swahili, which are our national languages. I also speak French as a foreign language. Through interacting with people from different parts of the world, I’ve developed an interest in learning the names of animals in various languages. This has helped break language barriers with my guests and made our interactions more engaging.

My natural talents include singing and sketching, while my hobbies are traveling, driving, and adventure.

safari guide from KenyaOne thing I love about tourism is that it creates a wide global network by bringing together people from different parts of the world to appreciate and learn about various cultures, flora, and fauna in my country. It also allows me to serve as a good ambassador by representing Kenya to the world. Tourism is a major source of revenue for my country, and through it, I earn a living.

My love for nature and wildlife led me to become a safari guide. I enjoy traveling and showing people the beautiful sceneries, animals, and diverse cultures found within our borders.

In this job, you get to see and hear a lot of interesting things. We all come from different cultures and beliefs that shape who we are. I’ve seen visitors trying out our local delicacies for the first time—Ugali, for example, which many say is tasteless (hahaha!). In turn, I’ve also tasted some of their foods, which are quite different from what I’m used to. One of the most unforgettable experiences was when I was offered canned meat, and after the first bite, I was told I had just swallowed frog meat. Banageee!

Whenever I’m not on a safari or doing anything related to guiding, I spend time with my family. When I’m not with them, I enjoy making music at the studio or learning how to play the guitar. I also enjoy reading books here and there, as well as sharpening my guiding skills.

As for animals, my favorite is the leopard, followed closely by the warthog. It’s always a great day when I spot them while out on safari. Among birds, the martial eagle is my top favorite—I admire how strong and powerful it is.
