Arrive In Rwanda | Transfer To Akagera National Park | Short Game Drive | Boat Ride

On arrival in Rwanda, you will be welcomed and picked up by our Kubwa Five Safaris guide who will be holding an A4 paper with your name printed on it at Kigali International Airport. You’ll then be transferred to Akagera National Park.

On arrival, you will enjoy a short game drive on your way to a boat cruise on Lake Ihema to watch hippos and crocodiles in the water or by the shores.

Akagera National Park supports thriving populations of lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and black rhinos, alongside giraffes, zebras, warthogs, a wide variety of
antelope, and 550 bird species. 

The park hosts several big mammals with the most sought-after being lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, elephants, and hippos, which will provide for great
photographic moments.

Early Morning And Evening Game Drives In Akagera National Park

After breakfast, you will head out for an early morning game drive in Akagera Nations Park and later on have an evening game drive as well.

Imagine being out in the soft, early morning light, wrapped in a blanket, just as the animals emerge from their night’s rest or from the shadows of their nighttime adventures. The world feels fresh and new on an early morning game drive, the sun has yet to beat down upon the earth, and it may end up being your favorite time to be out on safari.

You'll love the warm light and cooler temperatures as we take you out to explore on your evening game drive. This time of day is when both predators and prey are most active and it can feel as though anything could happen at any moment. This is when you'll most enjoy being on safari.

Transfer To Kigali | Genocide Memorial Tour | Local Market Tour

After breakfast, you will be driven back to Kigali and embark on a city tour, visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial site, where you will get a brief history of Rwanda. 

You will also visit the Kigali local Market. Here you can explore a lively arts scene, traditional markets, several museums and memorials, and tempting restaurants representing most global cuisines. An attractive central location places Kigali within half a day of all the country's tourist hot spots.

Transfer To Nyungwe National Park | Canopy Walk

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Nyungwe National Park.

Nyungwe National Park protects East Africa's largest tract of montane rainforest. You'll start to appreciate its extent as you wind along the road that bisects the park, offering grandstand views over waves of forested hills that roll towards the Burundi border. 

On arrival in Nyungwe National Park, you will go for a canopy walk.

We will walk through the treetops on Nyungwe’s famous canopy walk, a thrilling metallic construction suspended 40m above the forest floor between the higher slopes and giant trees of a steep valley.

A 130km trail network provides an intimate experience of the forest interior, with its ancient hardwood trees, tangled lianas, babbling waterfalls and fern-lined streams. In terms of wildlife, Nyungwe is best known for supporting 13 species of primate, including chimpanzee, L’Hoest’s monkey, Rwenzori colobus and the sloth-like potto. A checklist of 310 forest species makes it Rwanda’s premier birding destination.

Chimpanzee Trekking In Nyungwe National Park | Relaxing

After breakfast, you and your guide together with packed lunches will head out to the park head offices for a briefing about the do's and don'ts of Chimpanzee trekking.

After the briefing, head out to trek the chimpanzees.

Come with us as we trek through the forest in search of chimpanzees. Once we find these remarkable primates, you'll share an extraordinary encounter with some of our closest relatives in the animal kingdom.

After the trekking, return to your lodge and relax for the rest of the day.

Transfer To Musanze | Dian Fossey Center Tour | Visit Iby'Cultural Village

After breakfast, you will be driven northwards to Volcanoes National Park. 

On arrival in Musanze (Ruhengeri), you will visit the Dian Fossey Center (Karisoke Research Center).

In the evening, you will visit the Iby’iwacu village for community interaction and to enjoy the Rwandan culture, which includes traditional dancing.

If the majestic Virunga peaks of Volcanoes National Park look familiar as you approach them, that's because they were once home to primatologist Dian Fossey, and the movie 'Gorillas in the Mist' was shot on location there.

Gorilla Trekking | Relaxing

After breakfast, you will assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing in the morning together with your trekking gear and drinking water and after ascend in the forest to trek the gorillas.

Spending time in the presence of mountain gorillas is a real privilege, so we're sure you'll enjoy trekking deep into the forest to find them. This is one of the most memorable experiences you can have while on safari.

Volcanoes National Park is known for its ultimate primate safaris, where tourists will get to see a number of primate species.
There are twelve gorilla families living in Volcanoes National Park that are fully habituated, with a few others habituated solely for scientific research.

The groups, or troops, consist of at least one silverback along with several females and youngsters. The families are known as Susa, Igisha, Karisimbi, Sabyinyo, Amahoro, Agashya, Kwitonda, Umubano, Hirwa,
Bwenge, Ugyenda and Muhoza.

After the trekking, return to your lodge and relax.

The Last Day With Us | Golden Monkey Trekking | Transfer To The Airport | Fly Back Home

After breakfast, you will assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing in the morning with your trekking gear and drinking water and venture into the forest to track the golden monkeys. 

While participating in golden money trekking, you will learn interesting facts about golden monkeys that will make your Rwandan tour most enjoyable.

After the golden monkey trekking, you will be driven to Kigali International Airport for your scheduled flight back home.
