4 Days Gorilla Trekking Vacation Adventure Uganda
This 4 Days Gorilla Trekking Adventure Vacation starts with tracking the mountain gorillas in the jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Bwindi is home to nearly more than half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the world and it is one of the best places to go gorilla trekking in Africa.
Uganda has the highest percentage of Mountain Gorillas in the world. There is currently less than 1200 mountain gorillas left in the world and almost half of the population resides in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to more than 1,000 flowering plant species and 200 different trees, many of which are endemic. Keep a lookout for African green broadbill, colourful butterflies and countless rare mammals on your travels.
The best place to watch mountain Gorillas in Uganda with over 50% of the population in the world with 36 chimpanzees and 19 families habituated and are tracked by the tourist. Getting face to face with the gorilla is an amazing and memorable experience as you watch them feed and interact with their families.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is divided into four sections that is Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo and Rushaga. Some of the families are Mubare with nine members, Busingye with 9 members, Nshonga with 18 members, Oruzogo with 23 members and Nkuringo with 19 members. The gorilla families are led by a silver buck and it’s identifiable since it’s the biggest in the family with silver stripe.
The park is the primary area to watch half of the mountain gorillas in the world and a gorilla trekking is one of the activities that can’t miss out on your itinerary. To participate in this activity, you will require a permit that costs $700 per person for any of the sectors either Buhoma, Rushaga, Ruhija and Nkuringo. Please wear trekking shoes, long sleeved blouses and trouser as well as a rain coat with packed lunch. The activity is done once a day and starts with a briefing at 8am in the park Headquarters then you proceed for the trek in search of the gorillas and once you find them, you will be allowed to spend only 1 hour with them. Furthermore, Bwindi has other wildlife that are not easily spotted since they aren’t habituated like the Chimpanzee, different types of Monkeys (black and white Columbus, red tailed and Vervet), Forest Elephants, duikers and bushbucks as well as over 300 butterflies.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is Africa’s top tourist destination for mountain Gorilla tracking and viewing, with a spectacular vegetation cover, a great view, culture, and tour activities. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants. More famously, this “impenetrable forest” also protects an estimated 400 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups, which can be tracked.
This biologically diverse region also provides shelter to a further 120 mammals, including several primate species such as baboons and chimpanzees, as well as elephants and antelopes. There are around 350 species of birds hosted in this forest, including 23 Albertine Rift endemics.
