Porini Mara Camp
Porini Mara Camp is located in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy by the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve in the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. Porini Mara Camp is a non-seasonal safari camp set in Ol Kinyei Conservancy – an 18,700-acre wilderness set aside as a wildlife sanctuary with a wide variety of species including big cats. The area has open plains, forests, rivers, and stunning views. This setting provides the ultimate African safari holiday adventure in an unspoiled area, away from the crowds.
The Mara camp contains just six spacious guest tents and has an exclusive yet friendly feel with each tent containing comfortable furnishings and ensuite facilities (with hot shower and flush toilet). The camp chef uses fresh ingredients to prepare high-quality meals and even home-baked bread. Porini Mara Camp is fully-inclusive of meals, drinks (vodka, gin and tonics, wine, beer, sodas, and mineral water) and all activities (including day and night game drives, sundowners, and escorted walks)
Porini Lion Camp
Porini Lion Camp offers a unique safari location on the banks of the Ntiakatiak River, a seasonal river, in the exclusive Olare Orok Conservancy bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve, home to an abundance of wildlife and famous for the big cats that roam the plains. Guests can relax and unwind in spacious safari tents offering modern amenities and spectacular views.
Nairobi Tented Camp
Deep within a riverine forest, minutes from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), Wilson Airport (WIL), and Nairobi City is a true wilderness experience. It is the first accommodation of any sort to be allowed in this unique safari destination. The Nairobi Tented Camp is the only camp in the Nairobi National Park. The Nairobi National Park is a unique ecosystem by being the only protected area in the world close to a capital city. The park is located only seven kilometers from the Nairobi city center. The camp consists of nine guest tents each with accommodation for two people. Each tent has its own toilet and shower, so you can enjoy the luxury of en-suite living ‘safaris style’, with hot water heated over a log fire and brought to your shower when you’re ready. Low watt LED lighting in each of the tents runs off rechargeable batteries and solar panels, and for dining, guests can enjoy the romance of candles and lanterns – a truly authentic tented camp experience.
This safari takes place in Kenya. You will visit Nairobi National Park, Mara, Ol Kinyei Conservancy, Naboisho Conservancy, Olare Motorogi Conservancy, and Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Maasai Mara National Reserve
The Maasai Mara National Reserve (also known as Maasai Mara, Masai Mara, and by the locals as The Mara) is a large game reserve in Narok County, Kenya, contiguous with the Serengeti National Park in Mara Region, Tanzania. It is named in honor of the Maasai people (the ancestral inhabitants of the area) and their description of the area when looked at from afar: “Mara,” which is Maa (Maasai language) for “spotted,” an apt description for the circles of trees, scrub, savanna, and cloud shadows that mark the area.
Maasai Mara National Reserve stretches 1,510 square kilometers (580 square miles) and raises 1,500-2,170 meters above sea level. Add the conservancies and the area is at least twice the size. It hosts over 95 species of mammals and over 570 recorded species of birds. This is the world cup of wildlife, and together with the Serengeti National Park there is no better place to witness the best wildlife viewing in the world!
Nairobi National Park
Nairobi National Park (at 117 square kilometers, one of Africa’s smallest) has abundant wildlife that can, in places, be viewed against a backdrop of city skyscrapers and planes coming in to land – it’s one of the only national parks on earth bordering a capital city. Remarkably, the animals seem utterly unperturbed by it all. The park’s wetland areas sustain approximately 400 bird species, which is more than in the whole of the UK.
The park has acquired the nickname ‘Kifaru Ark’, a testament to its success as a rhinoceros (kifaru in Kiswahili) sanctuary. The park is home to the world’s densest concentration of black rhinos (more than 50), though even the park’s strong anti-poaching measures couldn’t prevent poachers from killing one of the rhinos in August 2013 and then again in January 2014. They were the first such attacks in six years, and reflect the current sky-high Asian black-market price for rhino horn.

You will have a bush breakfast out in the wilds and then return to camp for lunch. In the afternoon you will have a further game drive in Ol Kinyei and Naboisho Conservancies with a sundowner at a scenic spot followed by a night game drive with spotlights to search for nocturnal animals, including the elusive leopards which are resident in Ol Kinyei, before heading back to camp for dinner.
After breakfast, leave camp and drive through Ol Kinyei and Naboisho Conservancies, game-viewing as you go, and on to Olare Motorogi Conservancy arriving at Porini Lion Camp for lunch. Go on afternoon game drive in the exclusive Olare Motorogi Conservancy, away from the minibuses and tourist vehicles seen in the reserve, and with an excellent chance of sighting lions, cheetahs, and leopards; all of which are found in the conservancy. Sundowner and night game drive follow. Overnight at Porini Lion Camp.
You will spend a full day on a game drive in the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve with a picnic lunch in the park and then return to Porini Lion Camp in the late afternoon. Have dinner and overnight at Porini Lion Camp.
Enjoy a final early morning game drive in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy and then drive into the reserve to the Ol Kiombo airstrip to fly back on the 11:00 flight to Wilson Airport (WIL) in Nairobi, arriving at around 12:05. Alternatively, take the option of a further night at Porini Lion Camp with game drives in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy or the Maasai Mara National Reserve. There will be an optional balloon safari and champagne breakfast for USD 650.
